Honeyberry Jam

This homemade treat is beloved for both its simplicity and its ability to elevate everyday meals. Whether you’re spooning it onto toast or swirling it into yogurt, honeyberry jam is a quick way to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Let’s not forget the texture—smooth yet slightly chunky, with the occasional burst of berry goodness. Just add honey plus your berries of choice to make honeyberry.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Frozen Berries (of choice)
  • 1 Cup Raw Honey

Equipment

  • Medium-sized pot
  • Something to stir and mash with
  • Stovetop to cook on
  • Optional: Sieve or immersion blender if you'd rather have a smooth syrup consistency

Method

  1. Pour frozen berries and honey into pot.
  2. Set the element on medium-high heat to simmer.
  3. Stir continually, simmer for about 20 minutes, until berries are thawed and honey starts to bubble. If honey starts to double and rise, immediately remove from heat, it probably is done at that point. You don't want to burn your honey, so watch your mixture.
  4. Mash your jam to the consistency you like with a potato masher.
  5. Turn off the heat, and let the jam rest in the pot off of the hot element to cool.
  6. It will be very hot because of the honey, so wait to serve at least for 10-20 minutes. I like to quick cool in the fridge when serving my littles this mixture on pancakes.
  7. Optional, but you can strain the jam through a fine sieve, to make the honeyberry mix more of a syrup consistency. Whatever you prefer is just as yummy.
  8. You can either serve from a bowl, where everyone can spoon out what they need.
However, because it is a bit more runny, like the consistency you would expect from honey and some of the juices added from the berries.
I prefer something to pour from instead, like a jar or a measuring cup with a guided spout. Whatever works for your table!
  9. You can store it in the fridge for a week or so, probably longer if it's clean, covered, and put in the fridge. Trust your senses on how it's going.

Can I Use Non-Frozen Berries?
Honestly, you could, but I have found the berries release their juices and dye so much nicer once frozen. You could just freeze them overnight the day before you want to make this, and that will be good enough.
